for Mission Studies
The founding purposes of the Presbyterian Center for Mission
Studies (PCMS), which began in 1972, are
- “analyzing the needs and opportunities for Christian
Mission in today’s world” and
- “suggesting additional methods and structures
for mission.”
Sounds ho-hum? OK here’s the problem: Unless believers
create structures that are appropriate for the
yet-to-begin mission tasks, a lot of problems God has given us
to solve will remain unsolved. In fact, the history of
Protestant mission is an amazing story of restless believers
suggesting new structures to solve major problems.
